Seven Deadly Maxis Sins

Hey, I'm thinking of doing a 7 deadly sins photoshoot with Maxis characters, and I'm wondering if you guys can help me figure out who fits where.

These, are the ones that I definitely want to do:

Lust - Don Lothario
Avarice - Dina Caliente (as much as I love her)
Envy - Lilith Pleasant

These are the ones I need:

Wrath (I'm thinking Olive?)
Pride (My version of Bella or Mortimer would fit, but I don't think this is their official characterization)
Gluttony (Natasha Una?)

Have any suggestions? Do you think I should use the characters in their original age groups (teen Lilith, elder Olive) or have them all as adults?

I'll eventually make these into wall hangings and upload them for you guys. I also made a bunch of paintings for the next chapter that I'll probably release sometime soon.

I would say Ripp Grunt for Sloth.
Mar. 17th, 2011 12:53 am (UTC)
That was going to be my suggestion, too.

I third this.

That's perfect! But should it be his teen version or adult version? For an adult version he'd probably look like S_T's version with the long hair.
Mar. 17th, 2011 01:10 am (UTC)
I think teen would be best, just to keep with the original Maxis stuff. I don't really know though.
Mar. 17th, 2011 01:42 am (UTC)
*shrugs* He's still lazy either way :P S_T's version looked real skeezy with that hair (which was the intent, so it was good, but I was glad when he cut it). Otherwise I'd just stick with his regular hair.

But, if you wanted to use the hair S_T used I doubt anyone would get all upset about it. It's not like the game really has all that many decent male hairs.

Upon further thought: I would just keep him as a teen with his normal hair. People would be more likely to recognize and associate him with canon Ripp, not S_T's Ripp.

I think I will keep his as a teen, but make him over a bit in my own style. Thanks for your help!

Hmm, maybe Patrizio Monty or Consort Capp from Veronaville for pride? I always thought of them being very proud sort of people to be carrying on such a pointless feud. Or maybe the younger generation, Mercutio or Tybalt.

Olive sounds good for Wrath. And I guess Natasha Una could fit for Gluttony. I can't think of anyone else that would work.

I think you should at least keep Lilith as a teen because her feelings could change as she got older, Olive could probably be an adult if you wanted, but I would say keeping their original ages would be best.
Mar. 17th, 2011 01:15 am (UTC)
Yeah, I'm thinking you're right on the age thing. Young Olive is totally hot, but she's a damn good looking elder too, and I think my makeover would transition pretty well.

It's a bit hard for me to distinguish between what we've given in canon, and my own interpretations of pre-mades at this point, but I'll try.

Wrath: Olive. Circe. Tybalt and Tank are also perpetually angry...
Sloth: Chloe and Lazlo Curious. Ripp Grunt. Rick Contrary (look at his mother's bio).
Pride: Goths, like you said. Most Capps. Beakers. Isabel Baldwin (with keeping up the image etc.). Klara Vonderstein (she just sounds like a snob).
Gluttony: Definitely Nathasha :D. Maybe Titania and Oberon, but I think that's mostly my interpretation of them as big hedonists. Chastity Gere.
Mar. 17th, 2011 01:20 am (UTC)
Yeah, I think Natasha would definitely fit the best, and it would avoid potentially offending anyone. Plus orange would be a good dominant color. Speaking of which, pride would usually be represented by the color purple (so Morty would work better than Bella) but it also might work better for lust because of the woohoo hearts. Hmmm...

Oh, actually now that I think of it, Mr. Big would be pretty good for pride! He never stops primping!
Mar. 17th, 2011 01:27 am (UTC)
I don't get it - what could anyone be offended by? (It's 2:30am, I'm less than sharp atm :D)

IDK, I'd choose purple/dark blue for pride, and red for lust.
Yeah, Mr. Big works for pride, I don't pay much attention to townies so I completely forgot about him :D.
Mar. 17th, 2011 01:39 am (UTC)
I don't want any fat-drama or anything, and none of the canonically "fat" Sims are actually gluttonous anyway. (Plus in TS2 "fat" just means curvaceous or beer-bellied.) Grilled Cheese would work much better.
Mar. 17th, 2011 01:44 am (UTC)
I just wiki-ed "gluttony". Turns out I thought it meant "hedonism", I didn't think it was just (or even primarily) about food. *facepalm*
In this case Marcel Jocque works too. :D
Mar. 17th, 2011 01:50 am (UTC)
Hedonism wasn't far off, since I'd say substance abuse is also part of gluttony.
Mar. 17th, 2011 02:18 am (UTC)
Mary Sue might work for wrath - her anger at her husband when she sees he's carrying on with the maid?

Sloth could be Skip Broke - I always pictured him lazy. If not Skip, maybe PoliTech since he's retired now?

Gluttony - man, that is a HARD one. I don't have any suggestions for that.

Pride - so many sims could fit this one. I think Bella might work best. Unless you did a twist on false pride and use Broke.

Cute idea!
Mar. 17th, 2011 03:23 am (UTC)
I was thinking maybe Mary-Sue Pleasant for Pride...she has her image to uphold to the public and is more mindful of her career and such over her own family. The way I've played her family might skew that in my eyes though. :) Just a thought.
Mar. 17th, 2011 03:34 am (UTC)
Mickey Dosser is a lesser known sim, but he's pretty damn lazy. He's one of the greek sims from LFT, I believe. He might work for either sloth or gluttony.

Gluttony's hard because you don't really have too many sims showing obvious signs of food consumption. You could maybe do something with Julien Cooke and food. Maybe even Gilbert Jacquet, but I like him and would rather not see him as that particular vice. ;)
Mar. 15th, 2012 04:06 am (UTC)
Maybe it's just part of your philosophy/religion (I hope I'm not offending anyone-- I sincerly apologize if I do!), but in mine, the vices/sins aren't that bad, except maybe wrath (or lust, [perhaps envy, but when it gets THAT far I'd classify it as wrath], if you act upon it), which can potentially bring harm to others. On topic, I would say--

Wrath - Either Olive Specter or Buzz Grunt. They both seem like pretty wrathful characters canonically.

Lust - Don Lothario or, just throwing my opinion about (Seeing as Skell seems have her heart set on Don and I have no canon proof), Lyla Vandermorgan.

Envy - Lillith. One hundred percent.

Gluttony - Gluttony is just the overall consumption/buying of useless things you don't need, either a grilled cheese sim or a fortune sim (Or Don again.)

Sloth - As much as I love him, as adorable as he is, as sorry I feel for him, and as lonely as he may be, I have to say Ripp. Sorry, buddy-- You have been measured and found wanting.

Greed - Dina. Sorry, Deeds.

Pride - Bella. Any day.

The respective colors, as far as I know, are:

Red for Wrath

Dark Blue for Lust (If it doesn't make sense to you, just think of what's desirable today-- Deep, dark blue eyes XD)

Green for Envy (I really don't know why. Seems more like it would be icy blue, as in christian religion, you were dumped into a pitt of freezing cold water.)

Orange For Gluttony (I don't know why here either.)

Light Blue for Sloth (Think: A light blue couch or something. Seems more like it'd be brown or something, but whatever.)

Gold for Greed (Duh, way back when they used gold for currency)

Violet/Lilac or even... (gasp) Mauve for Pride. Purple was once, in a land far, far away (lol) a color only royalty was allowed to wear, so I can see why.
Mar. 15th, 2012 05:18 am (UTC)
In this case I was speaking of them from a completely neutral standpoint, which would actually probably glamorize them. But since you don't seem to understand how they hurt other people, I'll explain why people see them that way, religious or not:

For instance, the economic collapse in America was caused by greed and resulted in millions of people losing their jobs. But there's plenty of rich businessmen who don't care and just want more money until it destroys the middle class.

Pride is the worst one, because it's the root of all seven of them. When people think they're better and know better than other people it results in things like racism, war, genocide, etc.

Envy creates unnecessary hatred, and hatred leads to bad things. You're right about wrath being one of them, but that's still the result of envy. They're all interconnected and can lead into each other.

I'll admit I don't see gluttony, sloth, and lust as being as bad, because those are the ones that I do the most. But in excess they can really screw up a person's life and hurt the people who love them. (drug addiction, alcoholism, cheating, etc)

So all of them do hurt people and create negative feelings in people that bring them down. However, I don't think going around preaching against them really does any good. I personally think it's more important to focus on positive things and helping other people, and the negative will be avoided by default.

But that's just my philosophy. Sorry for the novel.

I first thought Lilith for wrath (but she probably is better at envy), but Tybalt would be great too. I'm not feeling Olive for wrath but probably because I think of her as calculating and slightly mad, rather than angry.

Pride should be one of the Veronavillians, I think, Consort because wasn't it him how was jilted by Isabella when she married into the Montys?

I do like the thought of Ripp dressed in underwear, surrounded by pizza boxes, laying on a couch watching TV for sloth but I'm sure you've got a much classier idea in mind lol.

I have to agree with the Grilled Cheese for Gluttony and Natasha is the only candidate.

Look forward to seeing the end result :)
Mar. 17th, 2011 09:36 am (UTC)
Well, Olive's first victim was the guy who left her at the altar, so that's where the wrath idea comes from. I don't know what the mail carrier and the grocery deliverer ever did to her, though!

Lol, actually that's pretty much what I had in mind. He's gonna be wearing the teen boy open bathrobe. I found him a messier, slightly emo hairstyle too.
Mar. 17th, 2011 02:53 pm (UTC)
Oh that makes more sense, I don't think I've ever checked out her memories before.

Heh, if only there was a ball scratching animation too :)
Mar. 17th, 2011 09:06 am (UTC)
Wrath - Tybalt Capp, he hates everyone! And he has such an angry face.
Sloth - Lazlo Curious or Ripp Grunt
Pride - I'm thinking Olive for that. She gets jilted at the altar and it sets her off on a killing spree? That sounds extremely prideful to me. Or perhaps Mary-Sue Pleasant, so into keeping up appearances for her career that she's failed to notice her husbands philandering and how desperately unhappy her daughters are.
Gluttony - Nina Caliente, her bio says that she loves bread pudding and exercise. That says to me that she knows she eats too much and tries to overcome it.
Mar. 17th, 2011 10:35 am (UTC)
Nina could be the sloth
Mar. 17th, 2011 06:36 pm (UTC)
Wrath brings Buzz Grunt to my mind. He weirdly seems to mellow out when he gains more logic points by playing chess with Ripp and if I move the Critturs into his house. No idea why that combination does it in my game.

Don Lothario's pretty slothful but Laszlo Curious really puts the slob in Sloth. Gluttony's pretty much impossible with premades but I don't play all the hoods so I'm clueless as to if there are any I've missed. Two of my custom sims constantly raid the refrigerator if hubby's not making Lobster Thermidor ten times in one day, it'd be hilarious if I hadn't tweaked one's Neatness to 10 and didn't have Autonomous Put Away Leftovers hack.
Mar. 18th, 2011 09:42 pm (UTC)
I agree with Ripp/sloth - but town slobs are also strong candidates.
