Musical Teaser?

Listen to it here.

It's not perfect, but it's something. Still experimenting with reverb settings and trying to figure out how to keep my voice from clipping in Audacity.

I didn't realize it was YOU singing at first. And I liked it. Now, I love it. *spastic flail!* You're just all sorts of talented. Beautiful.

Skell, you sound like a lounge singer, or something. It's lovely!

although it's not exactly something I like to listen too, it's still very beautiful to listen to. <3

Nice choice of a song, one of my faves. It's hard to sing to a replayed accompaniment too, especially when it's faster where you don't want it to be and slower when you need it to be faster. :)

To make it not "clip" like that, take the last few itty bitty microseconds and add "fade out" to it on Audacity. That way, it will fade just right.

Do you have the voice and piano tracks separate? If so, bring down the voice a hair or the piano up a hair, and shorten the reverb on your voice, or bring it up on the piano. There's a bit of a mis-match on the two tracks.

I don't want to sound critical at all, but helpful. You've got a very good voice, good breath support. My only bit of advice for your voice would be to use more chest voice and less head voice, try to breathe deeper from your belly - but hell, it's better than a lot of the people I hear today singing commercially, lemme tell ya.

It really DOES sound like you're singing in a lounge or on stage with the reverb, or in a sound studio.

Sorry, I used to major in voice in college, bit of a habit for me to listen critically.

I hear you on the replayed accompaniment thing! The beginning is way faster than I'm used to and I was kind of lost without a tag at the end.

I've taken some voice lessons and been in choir so I can appreciate the constructive criticism. Audacity definitely seems to prefer chest voice to head voice so I think that's something I'll need to work on.

Thanks for the advice ! :D

This kind of added a whole new layer to the story. :) Added a new layer to the experience as well. Artsy! ;) You really have a beautiful voice. Is is you playing the piano as well? And I've always loved that song.

Thank you! I don't play the piano; I found an accompaniment track on youtube. I love these kind of jazz standards since they're so timeless, and I thought this one would be good for Dina.

I agree with the others, this fits right into some 1930s lounge. You have an angelic voice! :) I think walter_oesau is right about a bit more chest and less head, but who am I to talk, I sound like a shy crow with a sore throat. ;D

This brought back memories...I sang/played this song a few years ago in a show. It's a beautiful song, and you sound wonderful on it. I think it suits Michael perfectly!

Angelic voice
Oh, I've just found this post!
This sounds very good for me. In Russia we say that a talented person is talented in everything, and now I see (or hear?) that it's true. You really have an angelic voice.
